Is a Merger with Wolcott an option? Probably not...

Some have asked if a merger with Wolcott was possible, in hopes that Elmore could retain publicly funded school choice.  Because unified systems must have the same operating and tuition paying structures, and Wolcott operates a K-6 elementary school, Elmore elementary students would need to attend the Wolcott School.  The numbers of Elmore and Wolcott students suggest that Wolcott Elementary does not have the capacity to enroll Elmore students, and teachers and classrooms would have to be added.  (Alternatively, both districts could close their schools and offer choice K-12, but that adds different costs.)  To see the numbers of students, visit: Does Wolcott Elementary have space for Elmore students?" and consider exploring class size policies for Elmore, Morristown and Wolcott, as well as information to answer the question:  What are the other options for Elmore?
